Congratulations to One of Our Very Own, Mrs. Samantha Wester!

We are overjoyed to announce that Mrs. Samantha Wester, an inspiring member of the McBride Elementary School family, has been honored with the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). This award, administered by the National Science Foundation on behalf of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, recognizes outstanding teachers for their exceptional contributions to STEM education.

Mrs. Wester, who currently serves as our Strategic Math Interventionist, has been a cherished part of McBride for 12 years and has dedicated 18 years to the field of education. She provides invaluable support to our entire school and collaborates with teachers to enhance instructional practices. Her inspiring, energetic, and enthusiastic approach to teaching has earned her this well-deserved recognition. As part of this honor, she will receive a certificate signed by President Biden, a $10,000 award, and an invitation to an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mrs. Wester is a devoted wife and mother to a beautiful 8-year-old daughter. Growing up as a military dependent of her father who served in the Army, she had the privilege of calling many places home. This unique upbringing instilled in her a love for travel and a deep appreciation for the diverse experiences life has to offer. She enjoys visiting family and friends across the United States and making cherished memories along the way.

Teaching is an absolute passion for Mrs. Wester, and she loves working at McBride, where she feels a special connection to military families. Her dedication to our scholars and community is truly inspiring.
