Guiding Beliefs

  • Multilingualism is an asset.
  • Language is foundational to academic learning.
  • All educators are language educators.
  • Language learning should be integrated into all classrooms.
  • Academic language development supports all students.

Read Along

All DoDEA students now have access to read along on google. The link is as follows  https://readalong.google.com/

When using the program, students can work on their reading fluency and pronunciation. Many students are using it already in the classroom. However, it can also be accessed at home as well by students. Multilingual Learners benefit from listening to English words and learning them through text.

Upcoming

The WIDA ACCESS assessment for multilingual learners will be administered during January and February. It will assess students’ English Language Proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Results will be provided to parents at the end of the school year. Seeing growth for multilingual learners is exciting for students, their families and teachers.
