The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP)—commonly known as “The Nation’s Report Card”—is a nationwide assessment that measures what students in the United States know and can do in core subjects such as reading, mathematics, science, and writing

DoDEA has maintained its strong performance on the NAEP while the national averages have declined. In the 2024 NAEP results, DoDEA 4th- and 8th‑grade students outperformed national public‑school averages by 14 to 25 points in reading and mathematics, maintaining the top position in both grade levels.

On February 26, McBride Elementary School’s 4th‑grade students will participate in NAEP by taking either the reading or the mathematics assessment.
